From kinetic theory to dissipative fluid dynamics

We present the results of deriving the Israel-Stewart equations of relativistic dissipative fluid dynamics from kinetic theory via Grad’s 14-moment expansion. Working consistently to second order in the Knudsen number, these equations contain several new terms which are absent in previous treatments.

Gauge Theoretic Approach to Fluid Dynamics: Non-minimal Mhd and Extended Space Quantization

The principle of local gauge invariance is introduced in the study of the Hamiltonian dynamics of a compressible inviscid fluid. In the first part of the paper, a novel gauging of the global symmetries is proposed which is both non-minimal and non-linear. The resulting MHD is analysed in detail. In the second part, the free fluid model is embedded in an extended space in the Batalin-Tyutin fram...

marginal behavior of the quantum potential in extended phase space

here, the concept of quantum potential that has been illustrated in extended phase space (eps) in previous works is explored for its marginal behavior. unlike in configuration space, different representations of the quantum mechanics can be found in eps when exploiting appropriate canonical transformations. these canonical transformations revealed that there exist several representations in whi...

An extended phase space for Quantum Mechanics

The standard formulation of Quantum Mechanics violates locality of interactions and the action reaction principle. An alternative formulation in an extended phase space could preserve both principles, but Bell’s theorems show that a distribution of probability in a space of local variables can not reproduce the quantum correlations. An extended phase space is defined in an alternative formulati...

Phase response theory extended to nonoscillatory network components.

New tools for analysis of oscillatory networks using phase response theory (PRT) under the assumption of pulsatile coupling have been developed steadily since the 1980s, but none have yet allowed for analysis of mixed systems containing nonoscillatory elements. This caveat has excluded the application of PRT to most real systems, which are often mixed. We show that a recently developed tool, th...
